Wiring basics in growing bonsai

If you are growing bonsai, you would know that the beautiful shapes of those trees didn’t just happen. They took awhile to become like that. It took patience, and long term work, to craft those wonderful styles and shapes which viewers take for granted. After all, bonsai is an art form, no more and no less. It’s art on nature.

The art of shaping a bonsai tree into a worthy work of art involves what is known in bonsai as wiring. Wiring a bonsai tree requires fine wires that won’t hurt the tree; these are usually aluminum wires, and they should be wrapped around the particular branch or part of the trunk which you wish to mold. Once the wires are set in place, you need to hold them there for several weeks until the tree adapts to it.
