Anxiety Attacks in Children
Anxiety Disorder in children is becoming more and more common nowadays. It is the fast moving world and the pressures society puts on our kids a contributing factor? People tend to assume that children are carefree and living in the best times of their lives. They have no worries, no reason to fret, nothing to be concerned about other than where to hang out after school. Unfortunately, this is not always the case in today’s modern world and cases of anxiety disorder in children are on the rise.
Children today have very busy schedules. Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday are soccer. Tuesdays the Math tutor comes over. Thursday is the day their science group meets to work on the year long project the teacher assigned. Then there are hours of homework (and those hours start at younger and younger grades), sibling rivalry, boyfriends/girlfriends, and peer pressure, just to name a few. As our kids get older they have to think about getting into university and getting the right high school job that will give them valuable job experience in the future. Being a kid isn’t what it used to be. Anxiety disorder in children is no longer uncommon and parents don’t know how to help because they are often unfamiliar with it.
