What Does Successful Parenting Mean To You?

We all have different ideas of what successful parenting really means. Some feel that if their children have lived to the age of 18 and then moved out, they have done all that they can do. Others feel that they have not done a good job unless their children did well in school and have gone on to a good college. Everyone else falls somewhere in between. If you think you have done a good job because your teenager has not done drugs, is not failing in school, and is not pregnant, you may be on to something. Success in these areas is all about perspective. You may even view successful parenting by where you live. If you live in a rural area, you do not have as much to think about as someone who lives in the middle of a large city.
